About Our Event

With all of the uncertainty of the past 12 months, we are delighted to see organised sporting events beginning to return to the calendar. In light of the lifting of lockdown restrictions, we are now able to announce the date for The Misbourne 5K/10k Trail Run. The race will be held on Saturday 18th June 2022, with staggered start times beginning at 10:00am to ensure COVID compliance.

The race has one of the most picturesque routes in the area, taking runners through woodland and across fields as they make their way around the beautiful Chiltern hills surrounding The Misbourne school in Great Missenden. It is known to be a fairly challenging race with a number of hills and varied terrain, which makes it a firm favourite with local runners and running clubs.

There will be medals for all finishers in the 5k and 10k as well as prizes for main race winners, category winners, and Misbourne students. The race is run under UK Athletics rules in line with the Trail Running Association health and safety recommendations and follows all COVID-19 event guidelines.

This year we are looking at ways to run a more environmentally-friendly race with no single-use plastic at the event. Water will be offered at refill stations at the start and end of the race. Runners are being asked to bring their own refillable water bottles.

If COVID rules change, a full refund will be offered.

The race organisers will take all necessary steps to ensure The Misbourne 5K/10K Trail Run is run under Covid-secure rules. We will need to see what the situation is like closer to the event and will put all practical measures in place to keep our runners, spectators and organisers safe.

Subject to any Covid-19 rules in place at the time of the race, families and supporters are welcome at the start and finish in the school grounds but please note, there are no dogs allowed at the school. Please abide by all social distancing regulations.

The Misbourne 5K and 10K Trail Run is a Covid Compliant Event.

It is unclear what impact Covid-19 will have on the long-term health of those who contracted the virus. As a precaution, it is recommended that prior to participating in the Misbourne Trail Run you take a Covid-19 Health Assessment by checking for Covid symptoms via https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-Covid-19/.

If you were hospitalised due to Covid-19, you should undergo a form of health screening prior to taking part in a competition. This screening is best led by a doctor with specialist training in sports medicine. However other doctors may feel competent to make decisions on your fitness to compete and to decide any appropriate investigations that might be required.

If you were not hospitalised due to Covid-19, but self-isolated having shown symptoms at any time, you are also recommended to undergo a form of screening.

If you have felt entirely well during the pandemic, you are not routinely recommended to undergo health screening, but it is something to be considered as part of your normal health monitoring for the health-conscious competitor. Your GP should be able to guide you on what level of screening you may require, and who is the best person to assist you in the process.

Individuals who fall into the ‘vulnerable’ or ‘clinically extremely vulnerable’ must assess their own risk in association with attending any events and follow government guidance in this area. Individuals who are not themselves ‘vulnerable’ or ‘clinically extremely vulnerable’ but are in contact with individuals in these descriptions should make a personally informed decision about attending any event.
